HOLIDAYS: New Years breakfast

My husbands family has a wonderful tradition of writting down your goals New years day after breakfast and reading your goal list from last year! And i love it! Especially because sometimes my husbands dad throws in a little cash to the top 3 or 2 who completed the most goals!

This year we kept New years breakfast alive at Swingers in on Beverly Blvd. I had never been in but had seen the place. It was so so good!

I had a fruit plate which was large very filling and had grapes, bananas, apples, melon and berries. My husband had pancakes, bacon and eggs. Which I had some of and it was really good too!

LIFE INSPIRATIONS: New Year

I love the idea that almost everyone decides to start fresh ideas for living for the new year! Setting goals, forgetting the past disappointments and push themselves to do better than last year!

I have definately been inspired from last year to go for even more in life!

This year among many goals, like work out more consistently, I plan to not be afraid to dream even bigger!

To live the life I want without fear of disappointment.

I plan to do that by being excellent in my circumstance and always striving for even better, without fear!

My current personal bible studies have given me so much knowledge about living fully and fearlessly!

So I plan things, I hope for the ideal situations, work out what I have and rejoice!

Being thankful for now and hoping for even better next time, opportunity or occasion!

Hopefully my success and God behind it all shines through my blogging this year!

Things i love: The Library

One of my goals this year was to get a library card and use it. I did, and boy have I used it! I love the library. Quick escapes at any time for books, movies and even cds to borrow! Friendly people who are like-minded chatting quietly over favorites! Best of all its free!

I encourage everyone, especially if you have kids to join a library branch and use it!

Oh, one of the best things is that you can place books on hold if they are not at your local library and they'll ship them to your local library so you can pick them up! SWEET!

HOLIDAYS: Halloween

So all the way up to the day my husband and i were trying to decide our opinion of Halloween... We celebrated it as kids, its fun to dress up and who doesn't love candy!

its roots and origin are a bit.. dodgy, but there are many things that were awful that have been transformed to stand for something light, fun and not dark.

So this year I plan to bring a new way to celebrate Halloween to share!

And here is a few photos of our very last minute costumes for out kids last year!

Ezra was Woody

And Zoe was a Vietnamese Princess
(My Moms Vietnamese and loved this when we showed her later!)

GREEN: gardening

Here are some updates on my alpine strawberry plant and my garden expansion! I am on my way! The pictures uploaded sideways (: { No idea why but here is my plant!

What I love about this plant specifically is the berries were so fragrant and flavorful! The more you pick the more that grow.

Also these must have been sturdy seeds because I did not care for the plant well during the winter and was able to revive it and its blossoming flowers/ fruit again this year!

I'm glad I went out and just started somewhere with gardening because its definitely all around a good deal! My kids and I cared for it, harvested the fruit, ate the fruit and watched plant life happen. It was just great!

Now this month I have sown Bells of Ireland, Bunching Onion and Cilantro/ Coriander.

Activities, Art and Culture: Homade Books with the Children

The children and I made a book!
I have been wanting to see how well they would follow directions and take interest in a "real project" together, and they did amazing!

We pulled out all the crafting materials to decide what we would use. I did the cover and let them do the inside pages (with a little guidance).

It was so fun! I talked to them about what we were doing, colors and what was happening with our "story". I really recommend doing this with your kid at any age. It makes them think, get creative, you get to see their creativity too.
